Importance of RBM

As international donor assistance shrink and internal national financial allocations compete with other national priorities, development program managers are challenged to prove that their programs and projects produce the results that they promise to do in their project proposals or manifestos.

Many Governments in developing countries have thus adopted a results-based management culture in recent years. This methodology, together with a changing mind-set and culture towards achievement of results is often positioned as an important Management Reform. It helps to connect policy, resources, program designs with service delivery and their effects on communities. But, are Program Managers prepared adequately to implement results-based programs and projects?

This capacity development training workshop is designed to enhance the capacity of mid to senior level program managers working for governments, civil society organisations and the donor community to understand the intricacy of RBM or Results-Based Management. Academic professionals involved in management capacity building will also find this workshop very useful.
